Coober Pedy Crystal Opal is distinguished by its higher transparency in comparison to White Opal. Crystal Opal usually has a body tone of N8 and N9 (on the Opal Body tone chart – N1 being Black Opal and N9 being Crystal Opal).
Coober Pedy is the largest deposit of discovered Crystal in the World. Crystal is often highly sought after by jewellers as it is bright and compliments gold, silver, platinum and other gemstones very well in setting. Whilst most Coober Pedy Crystal is generally affordable and usable by most jewellers, the value of some crystals can be high.
