Authentic & Trusted Opal Certificate by Opal Galaxy
Opal Certificate
We can supply an Opal Galaxy digital certificate of any of our opals after purchase. Please note that we are not licensed gemologists, and the certificate should only be used for reference purposes only. Our name however is recognised and well regarded within the opal and gemstone industry worldwide.
Gemologist Certificate – Australia
There are no internationally recognised gemology laboratories in Australia. The best available that we can offer is with Kym Hughes at Symmetry Gemmological and Valuation Services. Kym has completed both national and international qualifications in gemmology, and is registered with the National Council of Jewellery Valuers Australia.
We are happy to provide a complimentary certificate with Symmetry for all opal purchases over $5000 USD. Please note however that a booking to obtain a certificate can take up to 2 weeks, so there will be a delay in the dispatch of your opal. We can also arrange this service for opals valued between $1000 to $5000 USD, at a cost of $100 USD. Please message us before purchase to arrange this service.
Gemologist Certificate – International
We are happy to ship your opal anywhere you desire for certification; with internationally recognized gemology laboratories such as GIA and GRS. We have done this many times in the past. We do not arrange these services for you however; you need to contact the laboratories to arrange and pay for this.
We simply offer shipping your purchase to an alternative address for certification. We give a 100% money back guarantee if the opal comes back as anything other than we have stated. Simply put the address of the laboratory you have arranged certification with in the order form if you want to do this.
Understanding Your Opal Certificate
An Opal Certificate serves as an important record of authenticity, verifying key details such as the type, origin, weight, and characteristics of your gemstone. While our certificates are for reference purposes only, they help customers confidently understand what makes their opal unique. Whether you choose an Opal Galaxy digital certificate or a gemologist-issued report, each document supports transparency and trust in your purchase.
For buyers seeking third-party verification, we recommend reading the GIA Guide to Gemstone Reports to understand how professional labs assess natural gemstones and issue authenticity certificates.
Why Choose Opal Galaxy for Your Certification Needs
At Opal Galaxy, we are dedicated to offering complete transparency with every gemstone we sell. As proud members of the International Gem Society (IGS) and the Opal Association Incorporated, we uphold strict ethical and quality standards in representing Australian opals.
