Platinum is a naturally white precious metal that is popular for jewelry worldwide.
It is commonly associated with the luxurious choice of precious metals in jewelry designs.

There are no colored metals such as nickel or copper mixed in, making it hypoallergenic.
This means it will not cause any rashes or allergies on your skin.
Plutinum is combined with palladium, another naturally white metal, to achieve a specific level of purity.
You will often see platinum jewelry stamped with its purity level.
PT950 = 95% pure platinum. PT900 = 90% pure platinum. PT800 = 80% pure platinum.
And so on. Its industry-standard purity levels of 90% + make it a much purer metal than gold and silver.
Platinum rings require more platinum than gold rings require gold.

Platinum is both rarer and more durable than gold.
Its high density as a precious metal and chemical composition makes it less likely to break than gold, so it will last much longer.
Platinum also feels heavier and sturdier than gold.
If you hold one of each type of ring in each of your hands, you can tell the difference in weight.
Jewelers trust it to hold stones in place confidently because it is heavier and sturdier.

Platinum is much more challenging to work with than gold and often requires an experienced jeweler who often works with platinum.
Crafting with platinum demands exceptional heating and tools, as well as a tidy working space to prevent contamination.
Gold fillings that come into contact with platinum are a common cause of contamination.
Platinum is not as easily reused or remelted as gold and silver. It is essential to send all scraps to a refiner for reuse.
