This is a 2.5 carat black crystal opal, cut into a crescent moon shape, sourced from Lightning Ridge, Australia, a renowned location for high-quality opals. The opal features a black crystal body tone, which combines the depth of a black opal with a degree of translucency, enhancing its vibrant play-of-color. Dominant flashes of green and blue, complemented by deeper purple hues, create a striking and luminous appearance. The opal’s unique crescent moon shape adds an artistic and symbolic appeal, making it highly desirable for bespoke jewelry designs or collectors.

The opal has been carefully polished to a smooth, high-gloss finish, which maximizes the brightness and vibrancy of its play-of-color. A sand spot present in the original gem has been skillfully removed, demonstrating expert craftsmanship while preserving the integrity and beauty of the stone. The overall result is a refined, high-quality gemstone that stands out for its uniqueness and visual impact.

This opal’s crescent moon shape, exceptional craftsmanship, and intense color flashes make it an ideal choice for fine jewelry or as a collectible piece.
